but, but some of us live a Walmart lifestyle... Where else can you buy clothes, electronics, change your truck oil, do your banking, haircut, Get glasses, and buy groceries.... Oh yeah and get your Subway sandwiches.....lol

and lucky for me.. my bank in Texas was in the Walmart in Kankakee, Illinois..

Unfortunately, some of us in small town USA really don't have the option to stay out of Walmart. And since it's only 45 miles to Bentonville, they are everywhere. And since they are everywhere, there's really no place else to get many things.

She'll be dead soon so no bother. I am quite sure those who do the sorting in heaven are un-bifurbicated. They'll have a hoot with that one.

One advantage of living in a big city - in order to get to Walmart I would have to drive past at least three major shopping centers or malls. This just gives me another reason to avoid it.

Here's a thought - if you go somewhere where a kilt is not appreciated, why not wear trousers next time? What's the point of wearing a kilt somewhere where people are going to make fun of you?

For a lot of us, it's not about standing out, Mate.

For the most part, though, you just have to ignore than nay-sayers. As someone else mentioned, there's a pretty good positive to negative ratio when it comes to kilt wearing.

I've gotten more questions wearing an Argyll and kilt than a big wolly jumper and a kilt. It all comes down to what you're wearing! It may not be just the kilt.

If you go out in a velvet Montrose and full-dress sporran, you are definitely going to get a lot of questions because you look like you're in a play or something. I've found most 'typical' kilt jackets draw way too much attention! You can get nice kilt jackets without all the bright silver buttons, and you'll be amazed at how much better you are received. THE KILT IS NOT A COSTUME!!!

I have pretty simple tweed kilt coats to go along with my kilts, and from the shopping cart up, you'd never be able to tell there was anything at all at odd with the lower half of my wardrobe. When the lower half is finally seen from behind, people take notice in a much more positve way.
