can anyone tell me if the method described above for steam pressing the pleats is also the method I would use for pressing the seams? I would assume that it is, but just want to make sure...
Thanks!

Generally speaking, yes, those instructions are very good for pressing seams.
To prevent the seam creating a ridge on the right side, you can press the seam with the seam side up over a sleeve roll. Or, by placing folded paper under the seam.
You can make a temporary sleeve roll by rolling up a magazine in a towel.

ok, tweed is here, and progress has been made! I think I could finish a great deal of it this weekend! The cool part is that it doesn't need to be hemmed thanks to the wonderful selvedge. This will greatly reduce the time required...
Stay tuned!

Can you sew and type at the same time? If so, you could give us a stitch-by-stitch account of this project.

Maybe just set up a video feed so we can watch the process?

Well, bad news... Progress has been halted at the height of my enthusiasm. My husband whisked me away to visit family two days earlier than planned, so wait I must. But I still find myself pleating in my sleep. ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
oh well, maybe when I get back I'll set up the camera and make a small movie of my skirt
