    Funny... I'd never heard of Auchentoshan before... but my fiancee bought a bottle of it for my birthday yesterday. Not that bottle, mind you... And then this link.

    I don't think I could ever justify that much for a bottle of Scotch even if I did have the disposable income. Assuming there are about 15 shots in a bottle of Scotch, that's around 333$ per shot. I'm not sure I'd ever even pay that much for an entire bottle

    Maclowlife, I've seen some 1L barrels at various Renaissance Festivals I've been at. Check out this link... http://www.winebarrel.com/cart/index.htm You'd have to add your own whisky, but I'm not sure if it'd continue aging at that point? Probably not.

    Well, actually yes, that would continue the aging, but not likely in a good way. There is a lot of knowledge and care that goes into aging a fine whisky. So, this is probably not such a good idea for most of us.
