OC Richard, I've also heard that referred to as a "Chinese Christmas".
After briefly searching the net, it appears there are several other names people use for this as well:
Yankee Swap, Gift War, Grinch Exchange, Dirty Santa, Rob Your Neighbor, White Elephant, Nasty Christmas, Thieving Secret Santa, and Grinch Exchange.

Pity about the "instakilt". Did Ann's cousin mistakenly think that was a proper kilt do you think?

Alex, at least it better than the Instakilt towels sold just about everywhere!
And I love the banner but do you guys still have snow down there?!
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

I especially like the Sgian Dubh kilt pin. I wish I had an instakilt for the beach. I love it, but those are my roots showing.
