Their prices certainly look extremely attractive compared with Stewart Christie and you are obviously happy with the fit and material. Did you go with the standard buttons? I can't say I like the blue regulation doublet with the rather garish silver piping - a bit OTT unless you are a piper. I don't have a regulation doublet but I do like the illustration from Stewart Christie's catalogue with the red waistcoat -

The coatee came with standard, silver coloured buttons, but of better quality than most. I've a set of silver buttons in the works and as soon as they arrive I'll swop 'em out.
Something that I should mention is that on their website MacKenzie Frain show the regulation doublet with six buttons on the front, exactly like a Prince Charlie coatee. I specified the traditional "three buttons to close" and that is how my jacket was delivered: three buttons on the right, below the bottom of the lapel, with three button holes on the opposite side.

Thanks for the first rate review, Scott. I've corresponded with MF in the past and hope to have them make something up for me in the not too distant future.

I've had my eye on these lads for a while, hoping their long-promised Jacobite line will materialize. I'm glad to hear that their work remains respectable.

This is perfect timing as I'm looking to get a Regulation Doublet for my wedding in May.
Thank you for such a detailed review, it's nice to have an alternative to the off the pegs jackets @ over $700
I *really* wish you could post pics...

Thank you for the review, Rathdown, and congratulations on your new doublet. I've marked this company down for a future purchase.

The doublet on their website looks great. I have get a made-to-measure one in the future, though, I'm happy with my off-the-rack one at thye moment. It seems to support my chest but is a little large around the waist, perhaps for comfort, but I can defenitely notice it.
It can even just about fit my XL arms, which is hard to come by in an off-the-rack! The colour and fabric used was adequate for me as both look good with my favourite kilt, so I'm pretty happy with it.
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

I would post a photo, but I don't own a digital camera
Rathdown, I'm sure that CVS or Walgreens would have a disposable digital camera for you to take photos. After such a wonderful review, I'd love to see the actual product on you.
