Rocky: Have you tried to see if Danny Carcillo will wear a USA kilt? I think especially for Carcillo he'll need that teflon coating.

It really is hard to keep people interested in the same old thing, we have done many different things from the usual pub night, to Boat Cruises, the Scot of the Year Awards and all meeting up at Highland Games. When Alex was in Canada we went to the Airplane Museum and got Alex a ride in the Stearman by-plane. I think the best way to keep people involved is to try to keep things fresh, and switch the venue from time to time.

    Rocky,

The San Francisco Opera Company just announced their Full line up for the upcoming Season

I am going to try and arrange a Nor Cal Rabble Night at the Opera on November 12th

This particular show calls to me in some strange way

    Gee Jamie,...I can't see why.

Seriously, a night at the opera with the Rabble sounds like a great idea. My wife and I loved to go out to the different venues in the Bay Area. Over the years, we saw George Winston and David Copperfield at the De Anza College theater. B.B. King under the stars at the Paul Masson winery in the Saratoga hills. Dinner cruises on the bay. It's a wonderful area for entertaining.

If anyone in the Toronto area is inspired to organize an outing to see the COC's production of Maria Stuarda around the Victoria Day weekend this May, or indeed just a kilted night out, I would join you! I'll be in town for a medieval play production and conference...

I think we could arrange at least a kilt night, I'd love to go to the Canadian Opera Company again, I was a Season Ticket Holder a few years ago and miss it alas funds are not what they were so I can not commit to it at this time.

I haven't yet bought tickets or arranged a place to stay, but I will need to stick around the UofT for the plays - a full 3-day performance of Chester's medieval biblical play cycle, Creation to Last Judgement - and the symposium (where I get to talk about the production), so I may be entirely booked Friday night through Monday afternoon, 21-24 May. I don't yet know the schedule - soon. Still, I could easily arrive a day or two in advance, or stay a day later, in order to accommodate a gathering of sorts. It would be great to meet some more XMarkers...
