Soooooooo I was talking to a friend of mine
and we got to talking about kilts, which usually doesn't take too long. She loves men in kilts. Somehow the idea of merging overalls and kilts into one garment came up. I thought it would be a fantastic work/hobby garment. The comfort of the kilt combined with the utility of overalls. What could be better.
She told me not to mention it or I'd get thrown out of XMS.
I still think it's a grand idea. But then I like being the weird one.
I've seen denim kilts, so a denim kilt with a overall bib as part of the garment isn't that big of a stretch. Sort of like having a kilt with a built in vest.
Pushing the boundaries a little too much, or a good idea?

A very bad idea. Please don't even try it.
Take 2 Rolaids, an aspirin, and call your shrink. If you lie very still and ponder the impact of such a thing on civilization, you will probably be OK.

Sounds like it might appear more like an apron than as a kilt. Hmm, a pleated apron, what a concept!

Sounds like a combination of a tutu and a unitard. Good luck with that. Don't send me any catalogs or invitations to order one.

Ignore the closed minded. Make it, post pictures, and then I will judge. (It sounds like a good idea that would be very hard to pull off...)

Might be just the thing for blacksmiths or welders - particularly if made of leather. Bend Robert's ear at RKilts...never know.

Yes, I think they specifically refer to those as jumpers. When I went Catholic school, the girls were required to wear that style until middle school age. Of course, they were a blue b*stard tartan, not denim. I suppose the purists would be happy to know they were required to wear navy blue knee socks, not white!

Then why not just wear a kilt and a vest?!?

Sounds like a dress to me too.
