I think you means something like this:
The above is a Tewksbury box pleat with the strap coming through between two pleats. A nice way of doing things if you can work it. Of course, if you already made a slit somewhere else...
Perhaps all is not lost? The kilt strap on the other side should be close to the miss-cut. If the other strap partially or completely covers the hole, then there is not much to worry about.
Lastly, like 'nassbarijpm' suggested, a reweaving service will do a nice job of truly fixing the hole, but it will be a bit pricey.
