So the book is not working.

I set it on my fabric over three days ago and when I came into the room today...still no kilt. [snip]

That is hysterical, I have the same problem with dirty dishes. . .

Going one step at a time, working with the material, rather than trying to understand everything first has made this seem do-able.

I agree. Read the whole thing first, to get a big picture, but console yourself that many of the details will seem fuzzy until you get there "for real."
