A serious matter it may be, but do tell, what are you talking about?

The championship game of the National Football League.
(American Football, you know: Rugby with plastic armor)

In the States it's become a very large television event. Folks will often have Super Bowl parties wherein a group of friends will battle over the privilege to host the party. Usually the master of the largest high definition television will win the right. The party will involve the sacrifice of a chicken which is later dipped in various sauces and eaten by the guest to the ruin of their shirts.
The event is so monumental these days, that the game is now overshadowed by the advertisements with the budgets of most films. My favorite was titled Larry Tate: The Office Linebacker, an ad about a large defensive player who tackled people with poor business etiquette.

The Who Dat Nation shall rise up and be heard! I was born and raised in Louisiana and have waited since 1968 for this Sunday. Hopefully all my dreams for the Saints will come through! But even if they don't, I still have the solace of knowing a Louisiana boy is leading the other team.

I really did not see this coming. I thought Manning had this one in the bag.

Congratulations to Brees and the Saints. They played a heck of a game. The onside kick to start the second half was brilliant. It probably changed the whole direction of the game. As for the commercials, this one was my favorite.
