Yikes, Jeez Mael, now I'm kicking myself for not even thinking of an Inverness Cape which is long on my wish list. Guess it be a while though anyway since I have three kilts on order right now (kilt junkie relapse).
Sure can identify with the problems with Pay Pal doing what it wants...this was the first time I've ordered on line in a long time from STM due to Pay Pal doing what it wants - usually going to my bank account rather than my plastic. Solved the problem by emailing for costs then I'd originate the payment to STM rather than ordering on line of having STM originate. Don't know if that would help or if its a pain for Matt. But it got past the problem of Pay Pal taking the money from where it wanted rather than from where I wanted.
Do hope the sale was a success and some make up funding rolled in - the win-win situation for all.
Most happy that STM does ship USPS to POBs. Never had a problem despite the lack of tracking. In my little town the USPS does not deliver ANY mail. We all have to treck to the post office to get it. But that keeps packages safe. UPS, on the other hand, races 135 miles from the nearest city, Flagstaff, AZ, then zips through town tossing packages on porches and racing back to Flagstaff. The packages sit out on the porches waiting for the kids to steal them. Same with the air freight companies.
Its refreshing to see a company like STM that offers shipping options so that the CUSTOMER gets to choose what's best for them. These days it seems there is sooo much pressure for shippers to choose "Coke or Pepsi" and customers are stuck with the result. Even the NFL - who has an exemption from anti-trust laws from the government won't ship by the government USPS...only UPS.
Sorry, mean to compliment STM here, not drag a dead thread off in another direction.

FedEx-Ground delivers to my door here in Canada, and much cheaper than most other services in my experience; I would be pleased to have STM products delivered to me by that method! (most other mail-order companies don't offer FedEX-ground, let alone to Canada)
The spirit of the Declaration of Arbroath (6 April 1320) abides today, defiantly resisting any tyranny that would disarm, disperse and despoil proud people of just morals, determined to keep the means of protecting their families and way of life close at hand.

We used to ship FedEx Ground to Canada (and use USPS International Priority Mail shipping for other countries), but many of our Canadian customers (and we have several) started requesting USPS delivery and specifically asked us not to use FedEx Ground. Something about the customs fees they were charged on their end.
However, if you'd like us to ship to you via FedEx Ground we'd be more than happy to, just ask when you place the order.

I have several hobbies. Knife making and a project where I mail my flag all over the country to be flown. I also order as bout as much as a normal person from places like Amazon and others. My wife's job is promotional products and all of life revolves around shipping. Between the two of us we have used pretty shipping and freight and the horror stories we could tell. They all have issues but I will always appreciate a business that offers shipping choices as I will pay the extra for the UPS & FedEx as I can't stand the tracking system of USPS.
But that flexibility also comes with a cost. As pointed out there's more to shipping than the price of postage. It is like everything else, you can't say that just because it costs $5 for a printed tee that because the seller sells it at $25 they have a $20 profit. Every part of business has overhead including shipping. Just because you can throw a tee in a flat rate envelope doesn't mean that's all the cost involved. There's a shipping department, scales, postage machines, printers, etc. Also somethings ship at a lose when based on price. High weight, low cost items normally cost the shipper.
I have seen companies that make a obscene profit, normally jewelry. Pennies to mail but god the S&H!!!!
