As far as eating the haggis, the notion of it's ingredients don't really appeal to me. And just so you know, I'm real hesitant about eating sausage as well.
I am not at all a proponent of making anyone eat anything they don't want to eat, as long as they are respectful of other people's choices. Too many people in this world are too quick to take insult as it is.
My point was that small and inexperienced children eat their hot dogs with ketchup. Switching to mustard is a sign one is approaching maturity.

And one knows he has reached maturity when he eats his hot dog with sauerkraut.
Man, I'm hungry now.

Regarding Burns Supper...The Church of Scotland in London at their Burns Night do not encourage the wearing of kilts as Burns was a lowlander and was not known to be kilted. He also was living in the period when tartans and kilts were only worn in the military. (1746 -1792) as they were prohibited following Culloden.
There is an engraving of Burns dancing 'The Triumph" at a ceilidh and he wears breeches of the period
Burns was always proud of his Highland roots and refers a lot to the 'plaidie' in his works. I bet if he didn't wear a kilt he'd liked to have done!
The Kilt is my delight !

Quite true, Freddie -- his father worked on the estate of the Earl Marschial, a noted Jacobite in the '15.

Ok, I can see you point about bragging that he won't do either. I can only hope he meant it in a crude joking manner rather than an insulting manner. It is hard to sometimes convey things in text.

I've never tried Haggis either, but a Burns Supper would definitely be the time and place to do it.

MSNBC reports that someone in Scotland blew up DaMarcus Beasley's car. I wonder if it's related to his comments on Burns night, but blowing up a car is unacceptable whatever the reason.

Probably was down to sectarianism by some misguided person(s) Sadly Rangers and Celtic unfortunately provide these eejits with a vehicle to project their bigotry. Although Rangers and Celtic have contributed greatly throughout their long history to Scottish and European football, its sad that their so called followers have shamed themselves time after time. I have been a Celtic supporter all my life and will die a Celtic supporter and the team I dislke most is our great rivals Rangers but that is the substance of being a football supporter no matter what country you live in. Was'nt it great to see Walter Smith and Ally McCoist of Rangers contribute so much to the funeral of Tommy Burns. Unfortunately with these extremists, this mattered little as they failed to understand the magnanimity of this great gesture by the Rangers' manager and his assistant. When you read about this appalling firebomb in a built up area of Glasgow, it almost makes you not want to be Scottish
