There is a company in Nevato, CA called Drive Savers that can recover ANYTHING from a HD doing the "Click of Death". Also, I worked for Apple for 12 years and am an absolute SNOB about them. I can provide ANY tech support for them! Anyone using a Mac on this forum is welcome to my expertise. -Josh

There are a couple great programs that can recover data from hard drives for the Mac. Disk Warrior is the one I use and it saved my data (750GB of photos) when the controller started failing. Glad you got the data back though. You could set-up a Time Machine drive and it works great.

I had such a problem. I will not mention the company I had to Dell with. In the course of two months, I went through 18 logged hours on hold, and three hard drives. They all made a physical clicking sound. It was not the operator, nor was it and virus or program. In the end, they stretched out my issues to two days past warranty, and said they were no longer responsible. I backed up everything from then on.
