H's kilt came from the Old Town Tartan Weaving Co owned by Geoffery Tailor right next to the castle. It was about £20. They have kids' kilts in about 10 different tartans from birth to 10 years or so. I'd say use the Harris Tweed for a mini waistcoat.

I think my leftover Harris tweed amounts to enough to make a belt out of and no more

Sportkilt sells pretty neat wee kilts, pretty inexpensive, also.

I just got my 21 month old a new kilt from Stillwater Kilts. He loves it. MMmmm I wonder if the power of the kilt aids in potty training? i wonder...........

I think I'll get H a few little pv kilts to wear instead of shorts when it gets warmer. This kilt's wool, which is fine for playgroup, but not the park.

Seems like the perfect application for some of that JoAnne's tartan, although it may not be the season for them to stock it.
All cute pix, and Matt, your kid is very fortunate to have such an involved father!
Proudly Duncan [maternal], MacDonald and MacDaniel [paternal].

I love seeing the little ones in kilts! So cute! I'm going to make a wee kilt for the 15 month old in our family. I have a bit of Lindsay that would work.

Nothing makes little old Scottish ladies smile like a toddler in a kilt!
