Then yes that would be what I have, there is just 2 loops you put the belt through at the top to hold the waist line together.
on a side note I also have the original belt they sold, the one you had to put the buckle on AFTER looping it on the kilt....it is very annoying.....

You would think that with so many people searching for the older style they would start producing the "original" like that again.

I have UK Originals with and without snaps at the belt line. However, on these I never recognized a difference with regard to the fabric.
I also have the Original Standard UK with no apron but a zipper at the front and on this the fabric is softer.
Anyone else having the original original original UK?

I have a black Neo Classical UK that I bought back in 2001. The front apron appears to be narrower than the Traditional UK that I bought last year. It doesn't have the snaps up near the waist so I do have to wear a belt with it to keep the flap up. I'm not sure what the material is at the moment but it is softer than my new UK. Also, the bottom edge isn't hemmed. At the time I didn't know if that was the style or if they just forgot to do it.

Greg,
I once had one of the standard UK's with the zipper and two snap closure. If I'd still fit it, I might've kept it, since it was, after all, the original "Original".
@Red Stag:
Prior to 2002 or so, UK did not hem their kilts. Newer kilts had the hem. The free-floating waistband seemed to have disappeared around 2006 or so, after I'd left the company (worked for them in the summer of 2005). Right around the time they started making kilts for inventory, instead of special ordering them.

I liked the no snap waist for the originals - gave my belly some room to fluctuate...until I "outgrew" them all. Still have a blue denim and a medical white in the no-snap-waist that I'm too big for, but have yet to find anyone that fits them that wants them.
Just cause I know someone will ask - blue denim original is 42" waist 21 1/2" length, medical white orginal is 42" waist, 21" length

I have 2 of the old originals one olive green, one workman. Both have zippered fronts and are extremely comfy.

I bought this UK (my first of 6) in 2001, and it was sent 11th of September, so it took some weeks to reach me in The Netherlands
