Albannach loses a member...
Hey Guys,
I know there are several Albannach fans (including myself) up here. I wasn't sure if people were aware yet, so I wanted to start a thread. Please delete if this has been discussed.
Kyle, their lead drummer, 'hung up his sticks' in late November of 2009. His replacement, Colin, has begun with the band.
Here's the band's official announcement on their message board:
Hello everyone,
Albannach are sad to anounce the departure of their lead drummer Kyle Gray.
Kyle has decided to hang up his sticks and concentrate on new projects here in Scotland. The rest of the band would like to thank him for his passion, friendship, and for all of the hard work he put into Albannach, we wish him all the best for the future !
The band will be working hard to break in a new guy so that we can keep the beat alive. We'll announce the new arrival when we're sure we've found the right person !
See you all soon.
Cheers,
Albannach.

I remember seeing them perform a few months ago and there were both the new drummer and their lead drummer there... I believe the new drummer was introduced to the audiuence after the first few songs.
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

I had heard this a while back. I hope the new guy is as good as Kyle.

No one is as good as Kyle, I just hope that he is close.

I wish Kyle good turns in the future. At NHHG, he mentioned being a bit out while being on tour.

Listen to them at Winter Fest this weekend. I would have to say he's very close! Lots of fun!
