    Does anyone own these boots?

    Greetings all,

Celtic Croft just added a new pair of boots to their inventory and I am wondering if anyone has bought a pair yet. They look considerably more comfortable than the moccasins could ever dream to be (I own a black pair and the soles are laughable).
I know that they are on pre-order from Celtic Croft right now, I am just curious if anyone has found, and purchased, them before.

No Doubt, a real sole and the support it brings will put you way ahead of those who are wearing leather socks- or what amounts to the same thing. I am not a Ren guy myself, so I was shocked at the price. Is this the going rate?

    MacLowlife,

I have seen many boots that look worse and cost considerably more. The button style is similar to that used by SodHoppers, Bald Mountain Moccasins, and Catskill Mountain Moccasins. Those are custom made and, for boots that tall, would run at least $500. I do not need anything that special...or that expensive. As long as these boots being sold by Celtic Croft are well made then I would gladly pay that price.

They look more like biker boots to me than Ren-faire boots. But they actually seem pretty nice, and the price doesn't seem out of line for what they are.

    Thumbs up

Those are from a place called House of Andar. I don't own any, but I know a few folks that do, and they swear by them. The hiking boot sole and lower gives nice support in a faire style boot.

It's a glue on sole and they're built in China for House of Andar.

I met someone a few weeks ago that was boasting about the $900+ boots that he had just purchased from a ren faire. They were red leather with gold dragons and gold buttons, and he was shopping for a matching tartan. I think this is the dealer: http://www.windwalkerfootwear.com/boots.html

Not my style, but to each their own.

It looks like Celtic Croft has a reasonable price compared to these.

Glad to help! No 'tracking' involved though, I was actually talking about the House of Andar boots with some folks at faire last weekend, so I recognized them right off.

    Zardoz,

How did they look in person?
I am trying to figure out what the major difference is between this pair:

    And this pair:

All I can see is a slight variation in the part of the upper that goes around the calf. Beyond that they look the same to me.
