Re: Boring But True From The Scottish Military Geek !

    Thank You Jock Scot.
I for one am attempting to keep alive the memory of my great uncle, Thomas Spence, who died of wounds on April 2, 1918 while in the Black Watch and as a POW of the Germans.
He was only a Private. No wife or girl friend. All of his immediate family is long gone. But I am doing my best to ensure that his sacrifice is appreciated and remembered. He died for all of us, and we need to remember that.

Si Deus, quis contra? Spence and Brown on my mother's side, Johnston from my father, proud member of Clan MacDuff!

Can I ask you to leave the politics, misplaced National pride of the past, the rights and wrongs, mistakes, incompetence, stupidity, anger and the rest at the gates, as you enter those War Cemetaries and just remember the fallen.

Have done, will do. I had numerous relatives that served in both World Wars, I've served as a member of HRH's armed forces myself and need no instruction in how to act appropriately in showing respect for our fallen.

Good. No more needs to be said then.
