    Whistle tune repertoire?

I have been playing whistles for 5 years now and I'm interested in broadening my repertoire.

    I play by ear.

So, what are some of your favorite Scottish jigs reels or slower songs (even piping tunes)

And of course Irish tunes are sure to be in abundance as well.

If you could do a youtube link or something I would prefer it but I am capable of looking up recordings myself.

    So, fire away...

I play by ear also and I just learned two songs on my cittern. Wild Mountain Thyme and Both Sides The Tweed. They're both slow songs but great melodies.

Just starting up myself, also by ear. Doing well with Down in the Sally Garden (slow) and Out on the Ocean (jig). Working on Tripping up the Stairs (jig) and Si Bheag, Si Mhor (slow).

A great combination is Tripping up the Stairs followed by Mooncoin.

Garryowen sounds very appropriate on the whistle. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbSji7BntPM)

Wow, I started with Down in the Sally Garden and my third jig was Tripping up the stairs.

I'll have to look up those other ones.

I have done the following jigs.

Killavil or the Road to Killavil (I think they're the same tune...)
    Tripping up the stairs
    Mary Jane
    Blarney Pilgrim
    Musical Priest
    Starkindler

The slower airs I know beyond an abundance of hymns and non celtic tunes.

    Down in the Sally Garden
    Carrickfergus
    Raglan Road
    My Lagan Love
    Mountains of Mourne
    She Moved through the Fair
    Peggy Gordon
    Boulavogue
of course everyone know Danny Boy...
    Come By the Hills
    Morning has Broken.

I am working on Flaming Red Hair, from the Extended Lord of the Rings Fellowship soundtrack... That one's a trip...

I've heard Garryowen before but never worked on it... I'll have to get that one playing...
