    Hey, thanks for the feedback. Hadn't planned to wear it on board. If I did, just five small jean rivets and the metal waist button. Less metal than jeans - no zipper.

    The sgian dubh is a fixed blade, Navajo design handle from a local trading post. Similar to some jack knifes, but fixed. Have posted pics of it before.

    Thanks for the link to the Lewis & Clark rig. Those were among the things I looked at as options.

    And thanks - I do hope it never gets tested.

    brilliant idea would never have thought about that, but it looks like a great way to not only avoid pick pockets but to be able to carry extra items
