    Chocolate Guinness Cake

Heard this segment on the radio this morning and they had the recipe at the website:

    Sounds yummy...start pre-heating the oven!

YUM! Love the way the cream cheese frosting makes it look like a frothy pint o' guinness :-)

Our scottish caterer is making something for us called the Orange Chocolate Whiskey Mousse...we get to taste it tomorrow!

I have a small cookbook on celtic baking, and there is a recipe for something like this in it. Very yummy.

This actually looks pretty easy, I think even I can do it without screwing it up too bad. Of course I'm going to have to make sure that I put the Guiness in the cake rather than down my throat otherwise there's no telling what type of cake is going to come out.

And that, my friend, is why those magic cans come in four-packs (or eight-packs or ten-packs depending...).

One for the cake...one for me.

One more for the cake...two more for me.

One more for the cake....ahhhhh, the hell with the cake...let's have a another stout!

Sure. Just point out to them that calories are suspended on major cultural holidays.

Or tell them what my recently departed mother would have said: "I'll have a slice. It'll be OK because you're not supposed to live on it."

Make sure you don't put the buttered pan near the heat on the stove. You don't want melted butter on the sides of your pan.
What if the cake were baked in ramekins instead of a springform pan? I'm thinking that this might make a good "lava" cake.

A few places around here serve a Guinness chocolate cake. The woman half of a couple we hang around calls it "orgasmic" cake. Do you all remember that shampoo commercial where the lady in the restaurant said I'll have what ever she had? Well, this friend of ours did that and did get some silence in the restaurant. To this day we, nor any of our friends, can go there without getting a piece of that cake and laughing about it.

Legend has it ... that any man who takes his wife there and she eats some ... will be a lucky man later that evening!
