I have some of your Lewis hose, and find them to be high quality, so thank you. I am a bit puzzled about how to roll them over at the top as the cable knit portion is quite long - it almost seems to want to be rolled over twice, making for a bulky roll. I had bought the small size.

You are exactly right MacBean! I just bought a pair of the "Harris" style hose from House of Cheviot, in the claret color, and the tops were way to long-they reached way down my calf (past the typical length that I am accustomed to) when I had folded them over once! So, I folded the turnover (portion with the cable design) in half, then folded again and turned them down over my garters. They are size medium, but I wished I had purchased size small, as my hose from Gaelic Themes, which I love (simple and a classic!), are all a size small and come up to about three fingers width below the very bottom portion of my knee cap area. The hose still looked very good, yet I sort of found them to be a nusiance, still too high up on my leg, and since I am a bit of a perfectionist, they took me quite a while to put on, as well as adjusting them to the proper look I wanted. I think a size small for me, I wear a size 10.5 D shoe, in the House of Cheviot hose would fair much better, but I am still unsure about the turnover-they look pretty good on Matt and the other chap though. Any suggestions?

Well, I just fold the cuff down once, which is the way they are meant to be worn. I don't find them excessively long. The cabled part of the cuff measures just a tad over 4".

Of course, I have long legs, and what looks good on me may be too long for someone with shorter legs.

This can be adjusted a few different ways, such as folding the cuff over twice, or putting an accordian fold in the hose leg itself before the cuff is folded over.

Believe it or not, even with my long legs, I have had hose in the past that I needed to fold over multiple times (not the Lewis hose, though), so I know there are ways to handle it.

Yes, it is easily handled by doubling over, no problem. I measure about 5.5" for the cable on my small size Lewis hose.
