    My "uniform" is a pair of khaki-style britches, a button-collar shirt, the brown shoes I bought for Games but now wear everyday, my school ID badge, and a red pencil and green pen in my shirt pocket.
    I wouldn't even think about wearing the kilt here. I teach high school choirs.

    I have to tell you, David, that I used to teach in an alternative high school with some tough kids, and once they got over the initial shock of my kilt, they all liked it. It created a lot of "teaching moments."

    If it works in an alternative school, it might be OK in the choir room, too.

    For my "day job" I have to wear the issued slacks, shirt, and tie.

    My other job is playing the pipes. I'm nearly always kilted when playing Highland pipes, usually not kilted when playing uilleann pipes.
