Ok, I appologise, perhaps my comment about the image reminding me of a German 1940's propaganda photo has been taken completely out of context,
and I suspect it is thought that there was a deeper meaning to my comment.
Well not at all, it's just the leg movement, reminds me of that, and of Greek palace guards, and Russians marching, and the Hokey Kokey.
Maybe I should stop taking the medication

I don't mean to poke fun at you Redshank, but it was an amusing if accidental invocation of Godwin's Law.
And, so as not to hijack the thread without adding some relevant input...
Has any consideration been given to staging an X Marks tartan group photo similar to the current header image as a permanent replacement for the current image? I think the forum looks rather nice with X Marks tartan kilts at the top -- especially now that the tartan background has returned. It reinforces both the the ideas that X Marks is international and that X Marks is kind of a clan/family of its own.

I especially like the way that our tartan wallpaper bleeds into the edges of the photograph -- would like to see that kept if/when a new photo is posted, assuming the effect is suitable.

Would it be completely retrograde of me to say that I think the current photo is perfect, not merely the sine qua non, but the ne plus ultra? Cheers!

I quite like the photo but think that lots of people in their own tartan would look good as well. Or maybe nice scenery with the blending in we currently have of the tartan round the edges?
Doesn’t Godwin’s law state that the thread should be closed when invoked? It’s been a while since I read it and at quarter to three in the morning I’m not going to start now.

DarkIslander,
Those are some really nice photos.
But when we crop them to fit in the space we have I think we would loose so much that you would not like them as much.
Here is your photo cropped to fit in the available space.

What do you think?

A little phallic. As this is a "kilt" forum rather than a "Scotland" forum, and as much as Scotland is a very ruggedly beautiful place, should it not show kilts?
Not that I shall pull out a certain picture of me in a black leather kilt that so many others request to see...
