Wow! It's very rare to find second hand bunads. In most cases the Bunad goes from father to son. These Jackets could be worth a smal fortune here in Norway, but if it was the whole outfit it would be worth much more.

Here's a pic of a friend of mine from our trip to Scotland. He is using his Bunad jacket and Bunad Shoes.

Redshank posted a thread about the bespoke collarless jackets manufactured by his former employer, Redshank Designers and Kiltmakers. They are nice looking jackets.

Here is one of the photos from the thread Highlander31 mentioned. I like the fact that there is a sporran cutaway, as compared to the more square cut of the Iona.

Not much happening on the Redshank website though... it says it was "new" in 2007 and they would be adding content?

I'm thinking of trying to make/have made an Iona style jacket from one of the nehrus on the monkeysuits ebay store. What sort of waistcoat would I need to wear with it and is the Iona designed to be worn open all the time or are the buttons supposed to button?

My idea was to use it with a tartan waistcoat, in the manner of a Sheriffmuir---that is, open. I suppose you could wear it closed, more like a single-breasted doublet.

All the photos of similar jackets are shown open, with a waistcoat cut very high, higher than a standard 5-button Argyll. E.g. MacKenzie Frain. I think that suits the straight cut of the jacket. For flexibility, I'd incline toward a bias-cut, 6-button waistcoat similar to the ones that our fellow Xmarkers have showed us with their doublets.
