Matt, compliments to your wife on some fine work. Congratulations to you as the happy recipient. Let me add that that doublet really shines with the Highland Granite (I think) kilt.

Correct, that is the Highland Granite tartan, 16 oz Strome by Lochcarron. I think it works well with that doublet, as well. Thanks!

That is one of the non-clan tartans I'd like to have as a kilt one day.....oh, and I really like the lace work too!

Matt, that is without a doubt, the nicest doublet I have seen. My tweed addiction is starting to itch again!

I doubt the excuse, "But look, I could save money by knitting my own jabot and cuffs" is going to convince my wife to let me get a doublet like that any time soon. Looks great.

Lovely. I am inspired.
I have started knitting a lace jabot and cuffs (using a simpler pattern for starters...)

It's a Sheriffmuir doublet made from a charcoal grey Harris Tweed.

Generally you see doublets such as this made from black barathea wool, or velvet. We can do either of those options, of course, but I wanted something a bit different.
Bob Martin mentioned to me once that he had at one time a Sheriffmuir made from Harris Tweed. That got me thinking, so I said why not?! I really am pleased with the way it turned out.
