He has also said that years ago he actually heard an extended version of the motto, like a verse or peom and he would love to have this read at the wedding. Has anyone any idea of this verse and where I might find it. I have spent endless hours on google and can't seem to find it. It would mean so much to him if we had it as his dad is flying all the way from Australia to Ireland for the wedding and he would really like his dad to read it. Hello,

I too am a Macpherson, and I'd like to say at the outset, welcome to the clan. If your husband is an active member of the Clan Macpherson Association, and when you get the chance to meet other Macpherson clansmen and clanswomen, as well as our beloved chief, Cluny, you will find that you are truly amongst a worldwide family, with deep bonds and wonderful fellowship.

As far as your query into a an extended version of out clan's motto, I can honestly say, that I have never heard of such a thing, and I am quite educated when it comes to the history and the specifics of the Clan Macpherson. However, with that being said, I think I do know what you may be referring to (something completely different from the clan motto) and I shall reply again to your thread with greater detail in a wee bit. Please allow me to refer to a few of my Clan Macpherson reference books, and I shall have a definitive, detailed answer for you very soon! Meantime, I encourage you to check out the two links below my name. The first link is the official website of the Clan Macpherson Association, and the second, is the online version of our clan museum, situated in the heart of Macpherson country in Newtonmore (Badenoch), Inverness-shire, Scotland. Thank you.

Creag Dhubh Clann Chatain!!! (The black rock of Clan Chattan!!!-war cry of the Clan Macpherson)

    Yours aye,
