I like the titles. Let's have a them. They're harmless and fun.
-
Titles? What titles? I haven't noticed them.

Don't put no bleedin' titles on me, . . grrrrrrrr. They belong under William Wallace's feet

You mean Grant actually earned the title Kilted Defender of the Rubber Chicken? I had assumed it was bestowed upon him, because of his infatuation with Rubber Chicken Sporrans... One might even comment on his uncanny ability to prove that in a previous life, Grant was the court jester.. only missing his hat and matching tights...

Rank, honourary titles, titles by post count, titles by number of kilts... Where is the harm? When I joined this forum back in '06, I loved the idea of gaining rank based upon your involvement, such as welcoming a new member, or just letting someone know that you took the time to read their post. Titles on the Saltire... brilliant! Earned for meritorious service. The idea of this forum, in my opinion, was for fun and information. I gain my share of both when I come on here.
I care not what your rank is when I post in a forum. I don't feel week because of my low post count. If you are polite and knowledgeable, I will take your opinion seriously. If not... so be it!
Please bring back all the titles, and some of the fun that seems to be missing here these days!
Cheers!

"WOOOFF! in"Weimaraner" breed, that means,
wOw,
There are many insightful, a couple inciting, and quite a few rather long reply posts in this excellent process of parsing, deciphering, retorting, joking, and generally open minded parlay of opining ones mindset to a more exacting posture.
That said, could y'all encourage others also to post by being a bit shorter in post length and friendlier in address. There are hundreds of other members who might enjoy joining into the conversation. It hasn't been talked to death. It is still open and inviting for participation while the tone is kept level and/or light toward humor. If you really want to make a most serious point or presentation of an opinion please make it known at the start of that post and in that post make it "Polite, Not overly Formal, and SHORT." (the use of QUOTE is a heavy tool. Use it sparingly. Sometimes in the text of your reply post you can refer to OP {post #1}, or post #39, etc)
Long reply posts are not easy to want to read and make reading the entire thread more arduous than needs be for a first time reader of the thread!
AFTER ALL, it IS about humor. The titles and getting them and all!

Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?

Totally agree with Improv1. The poll indicates that a definite majority of the rabble want the titles returned (hopefully of all types). I'm noting that the posts on this issue are mostly Mar/Apr and there are still no titles restored (now in June) for post counts.
Please restore those, too, Steve. They don't separate us, honest. They add incentive, nurture involvement, and contribute zest to the forum!

In all fairness Dr. Mac,
As neither I nor any of the staff posted this poll, nor set the date for it to end, may we please wait until the poll closes.
