Canadian tartans

Surely this has to be included as a Canadian "tartan". Hands up all those who don't have one hanging up in their closet, anyone?

Mine is blue, but... yeah.

I don't have one either but have borrowed one in past when out tromping around my aunt and uncle's buffalo ranch in Saskatchewan. Very warm!

Actually, they are sometimes referred to as a "Buffalo Plaid", which may be a reference to a registered fashion tartan of that name:

sorry for coming late to this topic.
we weave all the provincial tartans in 100% wool with the exception of Ontario, as this is a restricted tartan copyrighted by Scottish Imports of Hamilton.
though some are currently only available in 10 oz weight, we are in the process of weaving them all in 12 oz (which is quite suitable for most Canadian climates year round)

Interesting, an official Provincial tartan and it's restricted. I had my custom woven by D.C. Dalgliesh without any known issues with the copyright owner who is aware and "quite proud" that someone went to the length to have a kilt made in it. Still I'd like to see it more readily availiable, if it's an official tartan then the rights to it should not be private.
