Wow that is disappointing! I can't imagine what that must be like.
It's a real shame that you can't wear what you want at your own company!

Sadly, few thought it was a good idea. (It never ceases to amaze me that women like seeing men in a kilt, but many men feel "threatened" by the idea of wearing a kilt.)
Yeah, they keep me busy in my hole. I tried to talk my boss into letting me wear my kilt today, but got a long sideways glance and the response of "Not even gonna ask higher, just wear your uniform".

I went with a friend to Sacramento's "Old Sac" area. I called here before and asked if I would embarrass her if I wore my kilt. She said no. She's used to my kilts by now.

We went to the Train Museum and walked the area. We were quite a site; 5 kids (only two were mine, one from another friend, and her two are adopted) and two adults one of which was a guy in a kilt walking around talking trains.

The pic is from right before we left. The weather is beautiful today, not too windy.

Well, I'm usually kilted at the community college where I teach - but today I wore my ancient Caledonia, a nice bright and bold tartan. That gave me the chance to talk about tartans, kilts, the highlands, the Declaration of Arbroath, and Scotland's many influences on our modern world.

Not a bad day, not bad at all...

    Kilt day a day late

    Hello all,

I will not be wearing my kilt to work, (as a cop, not sure how it would go over with the criminal crowd) BUT I do have a bagpipe lesson tomorrow night and my instructor and I are both gonna be kilted.

I am sitting here wondering how best to get all the photos together of my stuff to start the thread in which I sell "That Ridiculous Thing" and all the accessories that go along.
Why is she so threatened by your wearing a kilt? She's being ridiculous about it and you're just playing into her hands. If you're willing to sacrifice personal freedom for an unreasonable peace it's a sad sad day here at X Marks

I'll go hold a tartan swatch to make up for it.

One of my coworkers caught up with me just after work to talk a little about the kilt. He and his son are getting into their Scottish heritage some, and he really likes the look, but doesn't think it'd look good on him. I proved him wrong by pionting him to some photos of our kilted Santas, a group which he could readily and aptly join. Maybe he'll be getting one soon, too ;)

I started a new job in December, didn't want to push the kilt wearing just yet. I did wear a tartan tie (Fraser Hunting). When I got home from work a package was waiting for me from the Scottish Tartans Museum, two new ties! Fraser (Lovat) and MacKenzie Ancient.
