American Idol Bagpiper
Hey, I don't know how many of you occasion to watch American Idol--but did anyone catch the last song "Hey Jude" which finished with a bagpiper in full Highland piper's regalia? I thought it was a great way to honor Tartan day (albeit Tartan day wasn't mentioned and it has received a bit of criticism). I just thought it was pretty cool.

Saw it. Pretty bold and an interesting change. There are a number of great contestants this year.

Fie on you, as you've broken my self-imposed shell of ignorance of all things American Idol .
Interesting use of bagpipes ...

Me too
But honestly, I heard a guy playing in the pub last night do a better cover of that!
I liked that show better back when they had the big gong and Chuck Barris hosted it.

My wife got me watching it a few years back. I really don't think this bunch is any good either. Oh well. I usually end up at the computer while the show is on. :-)

I loved seeing the bagpipes in a mainstream media event, but the singer was not very good, and I'm not sure the piping really fit the rest of the song. It was kind of like they just through him in the end at the last minute.

That was kind of weird seeing Aaron in full piper's regalia after seeing him live so many times w/ the 'Tinkers
(...but then again he started with the LA Police pipe band many moons ago, so...)
Thanks for the heads up, I don't usually watch Idol.
