Though I certainly respect the fact that they might want to keep their process to themselves (keep it "under their hats", so to speak)...it would be way cool if they did a photo journal of the step-by-step on this one of a kind bonnet.

But is there a shipping container large enough for it?

You people are going to hurt my feelings if you don't quit making fun of my cranial enhancement.
Thanks, Redshank. I'll be in touch.
I wonder how much workspace Mackie needs to make this bonnet?

When given a choice, most people will choose.

LOL, sorry, Piper, but I do know how you feel. With me, however, it is not the size of my head as much as it is the lack of...er...foliage that seems to offer people a focus for their needles. I don't really care though - the girl who cuts (mows?) my hair gives me a discount and I save a lot of money on shampoo.
I hope you love your Mackie bonnet as much as I love mine!
Regards,
Brian

Nice bonnets gents...I jealous, but it will be some time before I invest in a Mackie, unfortunately. I have been playing with making Tam o' Shanters in the British MOD style. First one turned out pretty well, but a bit large. I'm going to mod the pattern a bit and make my son one in black...then probably make myself another in OD/Khaki.

Be sure to post photos when you do!

Don't be jealous, Major. I may have a Mackie bonnet - given me by a splendid new friend - but you, sir, have kilts while I have none. I am not in the least jealous, simply happy for you.

Brian

I don't know if they'd be able to do this, but I'd certainly be willing to document the next Balmoral I make. I don't have any orders in for them at the moment, but I do have one for a bonnet that I'd be glad to photograph.

Next time I go down to Mackie's I will ask them to show me the making process in steps so I can photograph it and show you how Scotlands last traditional bonnet maker builds them for my customers.

Now, that would be cool.
