I'm no expert, but you look pretty good to me, and have avoided all of the usual major pitfalls!
(cough ditch the white socks cough)
I like just a smidge (1/4 to 1/2 inch) of shirt cuff to show below the jacket cuff.
Oh, congrats too.

I'll agree that overall you look great, that is a handsome tartan indeed. The blue hose will be a nice touch.
I wonder if your sporran should be just a tad higher?
And if I may direct your attention to a possible kilt pin (trying not to sound self-serving), FlamingoKilts offers custom beaded pins on a military-style "safety pin" base. We can combine bead colors to coordinate with your tartan or to symbolize a service ribbon. Our website shows an example of the Vietnam service ribbon on Leatherneck tartan. I don't know what service ribbon(s) you might have, but we could certainly do one to coordinate with the tartan. [/shameless self-promotion]
Have a wonderful day and many years of happiness to follow!

The RAF Regiment are known by the rest of the RAF as the 'Rock Apes', apparently after apes that sit on the Rocks of Gibraltar (the ancient Pillars of Hercules). No offence intended. I'm a civilian.

Ditto on the blue hose. An RAF tartaned band wears gray hose and they look sharp. I´ve worn with maroon hose to pick up the maroon stripe and that works...
