    That is my daughters middle name. It means "God is gracious" The English is Joan.
    It’s pronounced “shiv-awn”, like Chevonne, but with more of an “ive” sound.

    I figured someone had been watching American Idol with that really pretty girl named Siobhan who got cut a couple weeks back.

    My wife had asked me how to pronounce her name, but I hadn't seen the show until then. She was as pretty as her name, and I had to give a short lesson in Gaelic pronunciation which my wife was uninterested in!
