My biggest annoyance with standard style sporrans is simply having to close them... Never had a prob getting things out, but trying to snap a sporran closed is why I won't wear anything but a hunting sporran. I prefer stud closures as well, and having spent the entirety of the day totaing a 7 year old through a 10,000 strong festival wearing one, I am doubly convinced. I can open my sporran, pull out what I need, and close it again, with no effort at all.

I don't wear any hunting sporrans at all. But I also don't have those accursed snaps on my flaps either. I have a casual leather that has an exterior loop go round what amounts to a button. The rest of my sporrans are masks that simply stay down. I think sporran design ought to be simple and useful... snaps tend to create more problems than they solve.
