With Tartan Day falling on a Tuesday, The Scottish Society of Fredericksburg celebrated Tartan Day the following Saturday, 4/10.
What a change in the weather! Tuesday was an unseasonably hot day hitting 90 degrees! Today it was twenty degrees cooler and I was able to wear my new HOE kilt jacket from Paul. My kilt is a casual from Burnett’s & Struth in the Malcolm modern tartan. From Dunadd Trading Company I wearing my Black Watch bonnet and House of Cheviot Argyll top hose, Thorfinn sporran # 80, Oconee Leatherworks kilt belt, XMarks Clan Crest badge in kilt buckle from Freedom kilts. Flashes and sporran belt from Scottish Tartans Museum. “Dandelions” plant crest badge from Joann Fabrics. Whew! Oh, the tattersall shirt is a hand me down from my Dad.
We set up our display table outside the Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop in historic Fredericksburg. Current Chief Jerry H and past Chief Melissa
Scribe Preston and Sporran keeper Avril.
Soon we spied another kiltie coming up to us. It was XMarker Starelectrician with his Mrs.!
Avril obtained for us these smart Tartan Day buttons!
It was a great day sharing all things with Scottish with those who came by.
The city of Fredericksburg has replaced its meter maids with this vehicle!
