I didn't notice the "McDeura" mention.

That's the name that Pakistani-made Highland bagpipes are often sold under.

    Changed days

I note that the photo is credited to "Armstrongs Vintage Clothing". This led me to wonder if there was any connection with Armstrongs in the Grassmarket (in Edinburgh). A quick Google later and my suspicions were confirmed.

Armstrongs were famous for secondhand clothing including kilts (proper traditional kilts!). Indeed the shop in the grassmarket was considered a place to visit for tourists.

Well it's changed days if the website is anything to go by. What a pity!

I've been in the Armstrong's on the Grassmarket a few times looking for vintage/used kilt stuff and have always been disappointed. The joy of seeing their huge selection is quickly diminished upon seeing the quality of everything. To be fair, I only looked through jackets and sporrans, and not the large selection of kilts. I know a few people who've gotten kilts for their kids there, or gotten large worn out kilts and reconditioned them as kids' kilts.

I went in once looking for jackets and they all smelt musty, most off putting.

A very nice jacket though! Somebody's going to get a bargain perhaps.
    Horrendous.
