I just recently bought a similar style of Clark's (see previous post, three eyelets and I added a fourth). On the two occasions that I've worn them with the kilt it's been hose scrunched down. Being of a simple and relatively classic styling, I personally think these shoes will also work well with the traditional hose up with flashes etc. The weather has just been hot enough to boil a monkey's bum on the separate occasions I decided to wear mine...so I was going for comfourt.

I do have a similar feeling about the eyelet issue. It feels like these shoes are 1 or 2 shy of where they should be. But MAN do they look comfortable. I'm not a big brogue fan, so am looking for something casual and comfortable that's a bit less aggressive looking than my doc martens 8-eyes.
