    Need Advice

On Saturday a group from my church will be going to San Francisco for a guided tour of Grace Cathedral (incidently that is where my parents were married and where I was baptized as an infant) followed by lunch at a restaurant in Union Square. My question is this, I normally wear a kilt to church should I wear one on this field trip? I hane several to choose from, I just wonder if I should wear one. It would probably surprise the congregation if I didn't. It will shock my lids when I see them later in the day for our weekly visitation.

I see no reason not to wear it! If your companions on the trip are used to seeing you kilted, it'll just be 'business as usual' for everyone.

I'd say wear a kilt. Everyone at your church knows so, be comfortable.

I'll differ to Scotty Thompson on this one on page two at the bottom it says this:

"If you can imagine circumstances under which you would be embarrassed to wear the kilt then you should not wear the kilt under any circumstances." This is not to advise against wearing the kilt. It just means that you should develop the attitude where you would never feel embarrassed to wear it.

    McMurdo,

I think you misunderstood my original post, I have worn a kilt long enough and been a member of Xmarkthescot long enough that I now view wearing a kilt as if I were wearing p@*&%s. I would only be embarassed if I forgot to zip or put my kilt on backwards. My children don't see me in my kilt often enough to know that I am as comfortable in it as I am in jeans.

This is a situation of asking for advice when you already know the answer. I had already planned on wearing a kilt. I just wanted a second (third, fourth, etc.) opinion.

Kilted in San Francisco is never a problem. Just be prepared for numerous tourist requests for pictures.

The Episcopal church and the Anglican communion are almost everywhere kilt-friendly. However, you probably knew that, too.

I just had to play devil's advocate, wear it with pride.
