    Minor jonesing

OK, folks. I've finally decided on what badge to put on Jock's old bonnet. I have ordered an X Marks clan cap badge. I may, at some point, have other badges but this is the first time I have actually purchased an article of Highland kit (guess I'm starting from the top down, so to speak!) and I'm kind of excited about it.

A picture, of course, will be posted .

    Regards,

    Brian

A superb choice to start with. I'm sure you'll wear the two with pride.

Don't forget the plastic dandelion plant badge, Brian. :ootd:

I've been searching for some sort of artificial dandelion, Ted, and I just can't seem to locate one. I've even had friends - including a florist - who work with flowers looking for me. So far no luck. Do you know of a good source?

    Regards,

    Brian

I think Chas bought up the entire world supply.

Brian, I started the same way. I began with a bonnet and badge before I even ordered the first kilt. I was so afraid I would order the wrong size that I had trouble pulling the trigger on the first one.

But then, I had the same trepidation in plunging my new, expensive bonnet intot a sink of water the first time.

What most of us use is a chrysanthemum as a stand in for the dandelion. I get mine at JoAnn Fabrics. They are seasonal, so they may not be out just yet. Others get silk chrysanthemums from a florist. PM your mailing address and I’ll send you a sprig.

Hmmm, I guess a yellow mum would look a lot like a giant dandelion.

    It's a "dandemum"!

I have some of them left, too, in case Mael runs out of them.
