    Kilt Pin - African Blackwood

For some time I had been wanting a kilt pin. However, I did not want the typical silver/chrome colored sword pins that seem to be available everywhere. I could not find the design or the color I wanted. I decided that I wanted a black kilt pin. Then I saw Kilted Carver and his kilt pins made out of wood. I contacted him and soon there after he told me he got his hands on some African black wood. Wood is really nice since it can be made into just about any shape I wanted. He drew up some custom designs for me and in a couple of weeks I had a new, unique kilt pin. The bonus was that it was black and made out of the black wood. I thought it was appropriate since many bagpipes are made from the same material.

He did a great job and I recommend his work to anyone looking for something different in a kilt pin. From normal looking distance, it is very dark looking pin, almost black.

Very nice Brice. I'm a sucker for artisan work of this kind and know it will not be too long till I start kitting out with some.

I did not think I would like a kilt pin like this, until he told me he could do it in a darker wood. It is an inexpensive way to get a custom piece done.

It has two pins, similar to tie tacks, that are used to attach it. Much easier to work with the the kilt pins I have had before.

Very nice I did think it looked like it was held closer to your kilt than other pins i have seen, I thought it was magnets or something.
