The only problem with throwing is that you miss all the rest of the great stuff! At least I got to play "tourist" on Saturday! I took the opportunity to buy a nice kilt pin from the MacKinnons lasses.

Mr. Blackbeard really looked smart, I must say, and The Black Knights gf (who really needs to register here so she has a "name") looked smashing in her billie kilt.

Some years ago in the UK, "Knobbly Knee Competitions" were very popular.

    Am I close?

Shhh, Grant. You'll blow my cover. I figured what with the pith helmet, and all, people would mistake me for Panache. Indeed, the lasses were quite confused at how much beefier he had become. Plus, all this praise is going straight to my head.

    Best regards,

Red face The Nor Cal Rabble enters a "Bonnie Knees" contest

Actually Chas here in the States it is "Bonnie Knees" competition.

The entrants compete in the hopes of winning a nice bottle of whisky (the things men will do in the hopes of a free drink! )

(I should note that normally this sort of enterprise would not be one in which I would care to indulge in. However it seemed that my lovely Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess thought that a bottle of nice whisky was well worth any humilation I might suffer and I was forced to participate.)
Actually a number of the members of the Nor Cal Rabble entered this contest

Here are the photos of the event

St. Amish (last year's 1st place winner) stands next to walkerk as they "stand and deliver"

    The Monkey@arms shows his assets

    And was judged accordingly

    bunchdescendant shows his best

And here is Blackbeard and yours truly trying to maintain some semblence of dignity during these proceedings

(I should state forthrightly here and now that my knees were not appreciated by my judge and I did not place in the winner's circle. This caused great distress to by beloved wife. I suspect that this had less to do with matrimonial pride and more to do with the dearth of whisky I returned with. I should note however that I was publicly proclaimed "quite the cutie" by the Lady running this contest )

My Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess and another lass felt it unfair that this competition was restricted to gentlemen only. So naturally they "crashed" the event

(They were of course disqualified, but only after the judges completed their assessments)

With pleasure I announce that a member of the Nor Cal Rabble did place in this competition

Our own BLACKBEARD took home second place and a bottle of scotch!

    AND THERE WAS MUCH REJOICING!

In the end everyone who competed was given a free ticket for a beer...

...which my lovely F-H.C.A.G. promptly absconded off with!

    Oh well

    Cheers
