I stuck a real dandelion in my wee bonnet just the other day.

But then, this time of year, dandelions are pretty plentiful. In fact, they're ubiquitous. I think they're trying to take over the world.

But I don't even know if they grow in Scotland.

I've stuck a real dandelion in my bonnet as well, but the stems seem to wilt too quickly. The silk version would be just the ticket. The ones from Mayfair look good, but a 20pound shipping cost to the US is a bit steep for a plant badge.

We are not short of the odd Dandelion in Scotland. Not often found on the moors though.

Yeah- I was wakling to the Museum in Franklin the other day and there was a clump of dandelions every two paces, it seemed like.

20 quid shipping? Wow...

...and I can see your point about the stems. Kind of a small, tender stem on a fairly stout flower.

As previously mentioned, I ordered an XMarks cap badge. It showed up today. Mael Coluim had sent me a sprig of artificial "dandelion" to wear as an XMarks plant badge. Now I can combine them so my bonnet can represent our clan.

I thought the Masonic Cap badge The Scot gave me was heavy. The XMarks badge not only looks better in person than it does in a picture but it is VERY substantial. It is really heavy! My Mackie bonnet, however, is more than equal to it. Despite the complaints of others about how heavy badges drag the left side of their bonnet down, my bonnet sits just fine. No matter how much I shake or tip my head everything stays in place just as it did before I had anything to attach to it. The careful construction shows.
