passing of a friend :(
One of our cats passed away last night. He went downhill very fast, it was just yesterday morning that he appeared ill. Unfortunately it being Sunday our vets office was not open. He spent the day on the couch, not moving much other than to try and be comfortable. I sat with him most of the day, until about 1am, he was comatose at that point, so I covered him with a blanket and went to bed. This morning he had passed over. His name was Pippin, he was at least 6 or 7 years old, my wife believes that he had feline leukemia. I believe that she is probably correct.
He used to sleep between us at night where ever he could find space among the dogs and other cats.
I buried him this morning next to the small statue of St. Francis that we have in our front yard. I will see him at the Rainbow Bridge along with a large group of others that shared our lives.

I am sorry for your loss. I have been there many times myself.

I am so sorry for your loss - these losses are never easy. Those of us with pets understand they are very real members of our little families. My family will keep you all in our hearts..

My condolences go out to you at losing your beloved companion. I too know what that is like and hope you find comfort.

Alas, loss is a part of life when we choose to share our love with creatures even more temporary than us, so we must enjoy the time we do have together. Many sympathies.

Sorry to hear of your loss.
I have had many dogs & cats over the years & it never is easy, they become so much more than mere "pets". I have a cat that will be 16 this month, and even though she can be a pain in the butt at 4:30am, I can't imagine the feelings of loss I'll experience when she's gone.
Always treasure those memories, our lives are all the more richer for them.

Thank you all for you thoughts. I have had many friends with four feet in my life. They all touched my heart. I miss them all and am so glad that at one point they were in my life.

I went through a similar thing in January, damn near tore me apart. It's amazing how these little furry creatures ingrain themselves in our lives so deeply.
My heart goes out to you for your loss.
