Garter ties, what is average length??

OK, I really hate my elastic flashes, and want some decent garter ties, problem is, what is "average" calf size? I saw that Matt's site sells big ones, and I have always had what I thought was big calves, but not sure if that's just me or not..... btw they are about 18" circumference, depending on how low/high I measure...

I seem to recall the standard length being about 36". They'll stretch a little if you pull them tight as you wrap. My calves are more like 14", and the standard 36" garters fit me just about right. So you'll probably want the longer ones.

Bah, I hate "average" this or "average" that. But I guess those stats have their purposes. From what I've found, the average size of a man's calf is around 14.5-15.5 inches at its widest point. But everything depends on so much

An easy way to see if whatever size of garter is big enough might be to get some yarn. cut out 36" or whatever, and mock-tie it to see if it's big enough for you.

My calves are 18" also and I originally ordered the regular size garter ties from Matt. They were too small and I returned them and got the larger size. The larger size does not cut off the circulation in your leg like the smaller ones. Yes there is some stretch but not that much. I'd go for the larger size myself as the comfort is worth the extra bucks for them. I now have four of the larger garter ties.
