I should show my wife. I keep pulling a Hawaiian shirt out and placing over me when I put my kilt on asking if she would be seen with me today like that. She insists there is no occasion when the two go together!

The 48th Philadelphia Folk Festival 2009 (Pennsylvania, USA).
Predates the original Woodstock Music Festival. (!)
Camping four days and nights in c. 90F-70F heat.
In this venue a tropical print kilt would garner only compliments.

Hmmmm... I like it and dislike it at the same time. I like the concept and the patterns... But to be frank, I would rather pull one of my actual sarongs out of the closet rather than get something like this. Kilts, by very nature, still tend to be a little heavy, whereas my Sri Lankan sarongs are a very light fabric and truly made for hot weather.

I could change my mind if I actually handled one for myself, and perhaps even had the chance to try it on.

You know, this is one of those things I would buy for a specific occasion, and then probably never wear again. As CDNSushi said, I like it and dislike it at the same time.

    Tartans are tartans.
    Solids are solids.
These are clearly on...or likely over...the edge.
My order is for the Tropic Bamboo.
Traditional and Heritage, are worthy...in their place.
But in other places…the lasses and lassies will still like it. And that's good enough.

Well I already have tropical print swim trunks, so I think I'll pass. My wife would love one though. Glad her birthday and mother's day have passed.

With a Coconut sporran and some maile leaf garters it could look quite nice.

DANG!! Why didn't I think of that? "Honey...can I borrow the bank card for a minute?"
