    One day (when I can afford it) I'd like to participate in the Clan Donald DNA project. Seems some MacReynolds are of a Gaelic/Irish branch, while those of my McReynolds/MacRanalds are of the Norse branch. Interesting.

    I wonder if the Norse branch are at all descended from Somerled?
    If I recall correctly, in the Clans of Scotland: MacDonald episode I posted, Paul Murton stated that 1 in 4 MacDonalds can claim genetic descent from Somerled.
