					Thanks Kyle
I had heard good things about GlengarryHats, so I felt reasonably safe as it were.
 Oh well, lesson learned.

I have to say that the balmorals from Glengarry Hats that I've seen "in person" always looked undersized to me as well....

I can vouch for Mackie. I just got a custom-size, custom color combination Balmoral which fits perfectly. PM Redshank and he'll take good care of you.

Don't worry about it, Todd. Your bonnet looks fine.

I got a khaki from Penny's and like it fine. However, it is not very large diameter. I think it might be current Canadian military issue. There are no ribbons on the back, and no cockade(?) on the side for a crest badge. I put my own black ribbon cockade on it. I also changed the toorie. (I wanted a red one, that's why).

They are good to deal with.

Terry, I think you are looking for something neither Mackie nor Glengarry (or any other manufacturer I know of) make in quite the large size you have in mind -- given the pic you showed us.
You are looking for a "doolander" and I had one made by our own Lady Chrystel in a wonderful tweed a year or two ago. It's stuffed in a boot in the hall at home so I don't have it here in Vancouver to photograph for you. I'm sure that Robert can produce a pic or two very quickly if he's about -- or you could PM him.

I love the one Chrystel made me because it truly keeps the head warm and dry in the cold and wet winters of Inverness-shire. Hmmm, well actually it keeps my shoulders dry, too.

 Rex
