Royal Visit to the USA

Alright now Gentlemen. We have a serious bet here. We're staking the finest of our Southern mountain dew against some of the best that Scotland has to offer. The bet is about whether or not Prince Edward will be wearing a kilt when he attends the Scottish Games in Greenville, May 28/29/30. The American position appears to be that the Prince will be Kilted. Our Bretheren across the sea feel he will be nicely attired in a suit and tie. If this is incorrect in any way please feel free to add any information. If there are any other wagers to be made on this topic, please make them ASAP. Non-belligerants will retire to neutral corners. I thank you.

In a certain former northern colony of Great Britain it used to be quite easy to buy corn whisky which would ignite with or without a match and which was on a flavour par with laquer thinner. An opportunity to taste test similar bulk American moonshine once yielded the same conclusion. But a certain Canuck once had a chance to do a side by side taste test of the original mountain dew, poteen from Northern Ireland, against the finest commercial whiskys of that same former colony and the poteen, which had been made with love and caring, was vastly superior. So I know the real US mountain dew can probably likewise beat any commercial product.

Anyway, I want to put in a Canadian bid for a kilted appearance by the Duke. The Royals are trying to be crowd pleasers these days.

HRH is currently only an Earl and not expected to become a Duke until the demise of his father.

I most humbly stand corrected. Just a rude colonial, but thinking the royal boys must all be dukes by now, I did not intend the premature demise of his father. I hope Edward will wear the kilt.

Shouldn't be a problem since the purchase will come from Scotland, and I know that Jock has excellent taste in whisky.

However, if I provide any Southern Mountain Dew to anyone, it would have to be store bought since few non-Southerners could take more than a drop or two of the good stuff. (Some of that stuff is about 180 proof and takes chrome off of bumpers.

) It's a little too stong for most folks.

But smoo-o-o-o-o-o-oth! The good stuff is realy smooth. . . . Or so I've heard.
