Glad to see your wearing the MacPherson hunting instead of a dress tartan. Gotta be able to sneak up on the ladies somehow so they don't bugger off before you finish your dance!

Agreed. Absolutely. A rumba is a fast as I dare attempt. A foxtrot is more to my liking.
I think that if Victoria were to be present on one of our gatherings, she would find herself quite happy to be squired to said tea room for some sparkling repartee with a gentleman of refinement.
If some of us were to dance more than one jig, or--dare I?--try to dance a very fast number, we would be very glad to have the cane close at hand so as to assist us in getting to the tea room.

That's what I thought.

I understand that Ali is quite taken by the Cane Dance, and there is suspicion that Cynthia may be as well.
But they'll have to speak out.

P.S. I have found that a very nice cane or stick tends to make the ladies pay closer attention. My hand carved cromach really draws attention, and the dark ebony derby cane shows a bit of--dare I say it--panache.
But if I get licquored up, throw that bad boy down and start doing a jog, then look out.

You might also try smiling, listening, and not lecturing (when speaking) to the ladies, or so I've heard.

I'll take the arm and be escorted to the tea room.
